6/16/2008 - Richard Zarate Murder near Loffler`s in Anaheim

Male SuspectFemale Suspect

Richard Zarate, 28, of Oxnard, was killed near Loffler`s Sports Bar & Grill in Anaheim on May 3rd around 1:30 AM when hit and dragged by a car and run over a second time after the driver made a fast u-turn.  He sped away without stopping.

The car, a tan color 90`s model 4-door Honda Accord, is lowered, and has tinted windows.  The license plate has a "1G" or "1Q" in it. 

There are two unidentified suspects.  The male suspect, composite above, is tall, 6` plus, weight 280 - 300 lbs.  He is Hispanic with a light complexion, short light brown hair and brown eyes.

The female suspect is short, about 5`4", weight 250 lbs.  She is Hispanic with a light complexion and brown eyes.  She has brown hair with blond highlights and wears heavy makeup.

This writer had the privilege of meeting Richard`s wonderful family ... including his children.  He was very much loved.  Please help them to obtain justice.

The family is offering a reward of $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.  Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 additionally for a tip that leads to an arrest. 6/15/2008 - Rock thrown off Wendy Drive freeway overpass fractures woman`s skull

At about 9:30PM, Wednesday, June 11th, Monica Dalto was headed home from LAX in a car driven Northbound on the 101 by her husband, Brian.  At that time a rock the size of a softball crashed through the vehicle`s sunroof striking Monica in the head.  CHP investigators determined that the rock had been thrown from the Wendy Drive overcrossing at Newbury Park.  Monica underwent brain surgery where surgeons had to remove fragments of bone from her brain and to insert a titanium plate in her skull.  She is expected to survive.

Russ Whitmeyer, Monica`s uncle, along with other relatives, has offered a $6,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who threw the rock.  To provide a tip, call Mr. Whitmeyer on his cell phone at 805-432-0054.  You may remain anonymous.  A code will be given, much like a PIN, through which the reward can be collected.  Or, you can simply submit the tip via Crime Stoppers through our phone line, text message or the web.  As with Mr. Whitmeyer, you`d be assigned a tip number.  Crime Stoppers will coordinate with Mr. Whitmeyer and will add to his reward in an amount up to $1,000.  Ensure that you include the words "Crime of the Week" when you give your tip.
